confused!

This morning level 11.5
2hrs After medication and breakfast dropped to 10

Had a nap with my toddler - not eaten for hours and it's dropped to 6.5!

It's the best reading I've had so far - what does it mean!?

Are you sure your hands were clean and dry when you did the early test?.

And what did you eat for breakfast?

I can't rewmber for sure this morning - they were at lunch time

Does it make a massive difference?

Yes it can make a big difference. Just a few days ago I was shocked with a value >9. I couldn't understand why, then realised I'd forgotten to scrub up. Washed, and retested, the figure dropped below 6.
Suggest you try to repeat the exercise a couple of times.Let us know how it goes.

you may find your fasting/before breakfast will be high till you get the insulin resistance/ dawn phenomenon down.
having a meter will help a lot and a target of higher reading of 2mm at 2hrs after eating, that the reading before the meal is the goal at this stage.
low of an afternoon is good and what normally happens first.

I found I had to cut all the high carb stuff including bread, pasta and potato
it’s a long page and a few good video’s

For me, the more carbs we eat the more carbs we want. they don’t give up easy
