No increase in portion sizes at all. I have slightly reduced my carbs, but only slightly. I now only have half a slice of bread as I was working on my post meal 1hr spikes, and although we have potatoes most days, I never have more than 2 small ones. My post meal spikes are fine. I think it's the protein from the cheese. It's the only thing that I've increased apart from a bit of cream once a day in coffee instead of a cup of tea, and the odd sausage..

Do you have another meter you could validate your score against?
mmm. it's a puzzle. have you another meter you can check against to see if it's that? i'd say all you can do is make up calories from non carby, lower protein sources or else add in fat... i notice it's always fillet steak so swap to rib eye which is fattier and has far more flavour- more mushrooms in butter and so on. If it continues to go up, are you opposed to medication as even one metformin had some effect on my fasting levels? All you can do is keep monitoring it and losing some of the recent additions and possibly the spuds/bread if it comes to that.
Are you trying to take all my pleasures awayand I couldn't eat more mushrooms cooked in butter if I tried .... I eat more than you do But you are right. I am going to have to have a re-think. Thanks.
I do not want Metformin, and as my HbA1c isn't high enough they wouldn't give it me anyway.
Lol. Not sure what else to suggest. Just keep thinking out loud on here and maybe we can spot something you can do between us.
Good luck on the 22nd Lorraine. I'm in to see the quack on Friday 12th about my blood results which were taken 2 weeks ago.I was locked out also.
5.6 before dinner
7.2 2 hours later
5.7 bed time.
Having my bloods done tomorrow and I'll see the doctor on the 22nd...
Thanks Ethyl. I will get the Accu Chek out, and cut down on the cheese for starters. I have never liked olive oil, but I bought a bottle of Virgin yesterday and put some on my salad today. I might get used to it! The actual numbers are still fine, so not too worried other than if it continues to trend upwards. I even took my temp today to see if I have an infection. LOL it was worse than my meter. 36.2 in one ear, 37 in the other!! I can't win
How long has this trend being developing, and do you have a food diary for the period you might review?Yes I have an AC Mobile gathering dust. I'll get it out tomorrow.
There isn't really a recipe but choose a selection of veg you like..blanch them for few mins. Put in an oven dish and I make a cheese sauce using philly with chives cream and grated cheese. Black pepper. Pour sauce over veg and bake in the oven till done. I use broc cauli onions carrots. Anything reallyAlliebee those readings are great
Im going to start 10mg Forxiga (Dapagilflozin) tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to see low readings soon!
I read on a recent post of your low carb veg cheese bake. Do you have the recipe please?

I know myself, if I see a new trend and I look back, sometimes I see a few more carbs, consistently, or a few less, which is often the case with me. I just don't hunt them out any more.
Hi @Bluetit1802,
You could try making some salad dressings with olive oil and lemon juice or vinegar and add some herbs or an avocado mashed up with vinegar or lemon juice is nice. . The vinegar and lemon juice will lower your blood sugars. Olive oil, mustard, lemon juice and some minced garlic is very tasty.
