Hi I would be interested to find out if other T1's find Antibiotics affect their control? I have found this whenever I am taking them. Am on some now for a toe infection but have had trouble before. My BG may be slightly raised ( 9, 10, 11 or 12) due to the infection before taking tablets but it goes haywire when the Antibiotics start working! I have mentioned this several times to the Dr and DSN but they refuse to accept it and say it must be the infection! I know it is not the infection as the problems continue after the infection has almost gone but am still finishing the Antibiotics! Am I the only one?

I haven't found that antibiotics affect my bg particularly, but we're all individual and I wouldn't be surprised if others have seen this

I wondered the same as recently I've been on a few courses of antibiotics for a problem tooth. My sugars did go erratic. I put it down to the fact that although the infection had mostly gone my body was still fighting it. I think it's quite difficult to separate the effects of the two things.
