Bubbles and Urine in Men & women

Hello All,

Hope we are well.

I have another strange question for the guys mainly, but all ladies welcome as well. :D

When we have a wee, we guys stand up, now I am sure I have read that if you make bubbles in the toilet pan, it’s an indication that we have sugar in the wee.

Is this true or have I dreamed it up.

I have also heard the colour and smell of it can also indicate that we are dumping sugar into our wee.

Any ideas or views?

I was wondering that because I have the same thing except recently it's become like a frothy head like you get on a beer,asked on here and someone told me it could be protein in my wee so I asked my GP who confirmed that when they sent my first wee sample off to the Lab-It came back as proteinurea and they will need to monitor my kidneys every 3 months.
I guess sugar that has leaked through the kidneys filtration and into your wee could make your urine more sweet smelling too,I know mine seems to and I'm sure I've read that as well but don't quote me on it! :lol:

In hot climates there are a lot of accounts of ants being attracted to the sweet smell of urine from people with diabetes. One of the people on this website http://www.diabetes-stories.com/transcript.asp?UID=41 describes how she was diagnosed after her father noticed the ants around the toilet at their home in Singapore,
You normally only have sugar in your urine if your blood glucose is above the renal threshold which in most people is around 10mmo/l (which is one reason that urine testing for glucose isn't as useful as blood testing)

Frothy Urine can be from protein but there are other causes (including amount and height!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proteinuria

I was just going to suggest an experiment where myself or the OP,Pee in a jar and leave it in the back garden(It's lovely and sunny here) and wait to see if any 'Minibeasts' start to line up for a drink!! :lol:
