hi

i have a weird feeling in my groin not pain as such. just odd feeling. and my wee smells and burns a bit. I drank loads and loads of water and it mostly went away. the doctor tested me for a UTI but said it was clear. I also get a bit itchy around my groin. I have read this is the symptoms of thrush but thrush mentions a rash and discharge which I don't have. really miffed about this one. is it just me or does any other guys get this ?

Hi. It sounds like you may have sugar in the urine if there is no infection present? If your sugar readings go frequently above around 11 mmol then this can happen and candida (thrush) results. Have you checked that your blood sugar isn't too high? If you haven't got a meter do get hold of one soon to check. You should be aiming for below around 8.5mmol 2 hours after a meal.

hi Daibell

ive only been testing for the last 2 days as im newly diagnosed 4 weeks ago. only just figured out that i can test at home. before this before i knew i had type 2 i used to eat huge amounts of sweets and chocolate over the last few years. i had this issue for the last 6 months. the doctor said that i didnt have an infection but this is not normal. and i have read about the thrush and had wandered about that. maybe it does not come up as infection in the tests the doctor did. altho my test show over the last 3 days my average before a meal is 4.4mmol/L and about 6.1 after a meal i think this is an ok reading. but if it is i had the problem long before i was diagnosed and i guess even if my sugars are ok now they wasnt before so maybe i had this thrush for a long time
