I have very recently been started on Byetta twice a day breakfast and evening meal, tomorrow I'm out for lunch so will have my main meal during the afternoon, so do I take my Byetta with my afternoon meal or with the snack I will have during the evening, I never thought to ask the nurse at the time when I started on it?

There is some information here,

Byetta is usually injected twice a day, before the morning and evening meal. You must use Byetta within 60 minutes (1 hour) before eating the meal. Your Byetta doses should be given at least 6 hours apart. Do not use Byetta after eating a meal. http://www.drugs.com/byetta.html

If it is only a one off then I would not worry but if you are going to eat your main meal at lunch time on a regular basis then you could ask. I cannot see that it would make any difference as you are not going to take it without eating something in the evening.

I am starting on Byetta and will only be injecting once a week to last me a week. Maybe should ask your gp about method?
