[QUOTE="gennie24, post: 136928, member: 25352"] [b][i]Hi, I have been recently given Byetta, and my g.p. told me I am only the second of his patients on it. I got it by asking for a referral to the diabetic clinic at my local hospital. there i asked to be considered for VICTOSA (LIRAGLUTIDE). The consultant listened to my argument for it and said he saw why I wanted it, (it supposedly helps with weight gain problems, + lowers bp cos you lose weight ). Doc said I could try byetta first as victosa is more expensive and if I dont get along with victosa I would have no other option left. I have been on Byetta almost 3 months and have lost 3kg in weight (every little helps)... :D at first for a month i was on 5 Byetta twice a day and then was to increase the dose to 10. twice a day, i thought this was a lot to double the dose so for 1 week i had 5 of a morning and 10 before evening meal, making a daily dose of 15 instead of 20 +this was best for me and i believe helped me to not be as nauseous. i only feel nauseous if it is more than half an hour from my Byetta shot to actually eating, I am usually fine tho. I am glad to be on it. I do take a right old cocktail each day.. ..Gabapentin 300mg x 3 (for peripheral neuropathy in feet.) +Amiltriptyline 75mg at night so i can sleep without pain from feet keeping me awake. Metformin 500mg x4 (we all know about that.) +Perindopril and Amlodopine 1 of each for b.p. each morning. Glicazide 80mg x 1 per day for insulin stimulation and Simvastatin 40mg x 1 at night for lowering cholesterol (4.5) and last but not least BYETTA 10 x2 per day!!!
