Byetta..

I wasted two years of my life taking this useless drug and I still ended up on insulin. Why, oh why do they put us throught it ?

I constantly felt sick and had many digestive upsets, yes I did lose weight and my Hba1c did drop - I was eating next to nothing, so that was to be expected. If I knew what hell I was about to go through 2 years ago, I would have opted for the insulin and not this new 'Saviour' drug for diabetics.

Life is slowly getting back to normal and I can honestly say that I am enjoying food again, but the insulin means I am putting the weight back on that I lost. I am also starting to sleep better and that does help.

Anyone else had a tough time on Byetta, or is it just me ?

Hi Sue

Sorry you had a tough time on Byetta (exenatide). I had no side effects at all and, at my own request, am now on the once-weekly formulation of exenatide, Bydureon. I have lost weight, had my HbA1c reduce to 6.1 at last testing and reduced the amount of metformin I take.

I hope that insulin brings you good control.

Take care

Doug
