Hello,

I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 in April 2011 as well as high colesterol and high blood pressure. I have been on Metformin and statins since then. In February this year I had a heart attack at work and an emergency angioplasty. I had 100% blockage on one artery and 25% on another one. I have a medicated stent as as result and am on lots of tablets including aspirin. I am now 5 feet 3 and 65 Kg. I watch my diet but I always worry what I eat.

I tried today to get Critical Illness Cover and the insurance broker said that I cannot be insured not because of my heart attack but because of my diabetes. Is this true? Cannot I get critical illness cover ever? Thanks

Might be hard to get cover but you could try a specialist insurance company who specialise in people with pre-existing medical conditions, the down-side is you'll more than likely pay a higher premium.

Welcome to the forum! :)

Seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser, they will be able to get the specialist quotes you need. However I am afraid you are likely to find the premiums are horrific or else anything to do with diabetes is excluded etc. However, nothing ventured nothing gained, always worth a discussion.
