Cake making

Hi all I love making cakes but they are high in carbs can anyone suggest alternative flours which are lower as starting carb counting more to control hubbys bloods better
 
I don't eat cakes so can't help, however you might find suggestions in the low-carb food section of the forum.
 
Ground almonds make a good flour, but only for certain types of cake.
