Hi there

Ive posted on another page last night as I was worried, please could someone tell me if it is reasonable for a non diabetic 3yr old to have a fasting reading of 14.7. His reading last night whilst sleeping was 7.5 and this morning 14.7. Then went down to 5.8 but is back at 9.9. Not sure what is going on :?

14.7 is a high reading for me (and I'm 17st!) I'd get him to the Dr. asap.

Yep, see your doctor as soon as possible. That is a high reading and cause for concern.

Not having enough time. Broken sleep.
The only reason I could think of for higher readings (without diabetes) would be sticky finger syndrome. That would mean that the area you took the test from may have needed a good clean first. I have found that some craft mixes/paints used at playgroup left on fingers can also affect test results.

If you're doing the tests and the finger is clean I'd say see your GP with the levels you have mentioned. I've also read your other posts.

If pre-diabetic there actually might not be a whole lot you could do but wait. If you started on insulin you would have to be very careful to avoid hypos. Considering a lot of the other tests you have done are in range it would seems that there hasn't been a meltdown in the pancreas as yet.

Good luck and keep going through the hoops to get some answers so that you will have a happy and healthy child.
