can anyone help please

hello there. im type 1 diabetic using the medtronic minimed 712 insulin pump. i am very much out of control my blood sugar is between 2mmol and 20mmol dayly. i am very confused about what my humalog insulin basal should be also what my carbohydrate ratio and correction factor should be. i am a 32 year old slim man weighing 70 kg. can someone please advise me because my diabetes medical team are not helping me and am getting very confused. thankyou

Not sure exactly what your problem is here as your diabetes care team should be able to help you out, but failing that, have a look at these sites:

Just type in your total daily dose of insulin using MDI and press the 'calculate' button

Lastly, if you haven't got it do buy John Walsh's Pumping Insulin book. It explains basal settings, bolus rates and everything else to do with using a pump. Have a look on eBay or Amazon :wink:
