I'm type 2 on insulin and have been doing fine for ages, however the past couple of weeks i am having hypo like symptoms most of the day and it seems to get worse when im standing, my eyesight is really blurry and it really feels like im going to pass out but my sugars are fine. It's happening now and my reading is 5.3 . I'm starting to get really worried that there is something wrong with me, i was referred back to the hospital in March just for them to keep a check on me and im still waiting to hear from them. I should explain that I suffer with extreme mental health problems which cause me to be housebound so I cant get to my doctors and they said that there's nothing they can do over the phone. Could this be diabetic related or is there something else wrong with me? Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any advice would be truly appreciated im really scared.
Edit: my blood pressure has always been on the lower side but not low enough to cause symptoms, last reading was 115 over 75

Hi @Kellie*

Sorry you’re not feeling yourself and having these symptoms, unfortunately no one here can say what it is, it could be any number of things and forum rules don’t allow us to speculate or diagnose anyway. Your best course of action is to get back into your GP and explain that you need a home visit because you’re housebound. My son is in a similar position and he gets home visits. Maybe chase up the hospital to see what’s happening in regards to keeping an eye on you? Your blood pressure isn’t really on the lower side, in fact it’s a perfect blood pressure, mine has been lower than that in the past.

Be firm but polite with your surgery and explain to them exactly why you need a home visit and ask for it to be put on records, are they aware of your mental health issues?

Thankyou for your reply. Unfortunately im currently in a very difficult situation regarding doctors, the surgery i was with closed down and for some unknown reason we were transferred to a surgery well out of our catchment area so no matter what they will not come out for a home visit. At the moment there is nothing I can do to move to a doctors who is closer and will do home visits this is because the new doctor i was put under decided she wanted me to come off one of my anxiety medications that I had been on for 3 years, the one tablet that keeps me stable and not bedridden with horrific physical anxiety symptoms, I managed to fight to stay on this medication but she has took it off my prescriptions, lowered my dose and will only give me a weeks worth at a time, so I've got to wait for the psychiatrist to put it in writing that I need this medication but God knows how long it will take as I've been on the waiting list for 2 months already and when I phoned them yesterday all they could tell me was that I was still on the waiting list and until this has been done I cant change surgeries ( sorry for such a long reply)

Because the medication is a controlled drug, if i change surgeries now it would be that doctors choice whether he decides to prescribe it or not and I cant take the risk of the new doctor declining the medication, when the psychiatrist says it has to be prescribed the doctor cant go over the psychiatrist and decline prescribing it

If it’s a controlled drug that you’ve already been prescribed by a consultant in the past (I’m presuming you have as you say you’re already on it) then a GP cannot refuse it. My son is on 3 controlled drugs and when we moved area & GP the prescription just carried on,
