can anyone let me know if it's advisable to buy newest updated sugar monitor please? I'm only asking because the pharmacist told me i need a updated sugar monitor which he wanted me to buy from his pharmacy. my sugar monitor is a BGMS, had it since i was diagnosed type 2 three years ago
Almost all meters and especially teststrips are cheaper if bought online, but your pharmacist won't make money from that.
If your meter works fine, why would you need a different one? Did the pharmacist explain what is supposedly wrong with your old meter?

I cannot find any mention of BGMS on-line other than it being an acronym for Blood Glucose Meters. Are you sure that is the correct brand name?
A couple of years ago, I was using the Glucomen meter and they decided to discontinue some of their test strips. This forced users to upgrade the meter to a newer version. There may be a valid reason for your pharmicist asking you to upgrade.

I've only ever (in five years) used a Gluco RXQ that was free. It does BGs and would do ketones if I bought the strips, but I never have.
I did think about a newer model, particularly when I was in the US last year (unit price was good) but the issue is the cost of test strips, which are for the new models at least double the cost of the strips for the RXQ.
