Can going abroad affect you if you have Diabetes?

I am curious to find out if going abroad can affect you if you have Diabetes.

Anyone have any ideas?

In what way do you mean? I currently live abroad and manage my diabetes only with remote contact to my GP and nurse back home. Generally I expect that my condition 'should' be easier to manage out here, due to the lack of processed and 'fast' foods ...everything very fresh and needs to be cooked in the old fashioned way! I also travel extensively around the world, and although my diabetes is still not under control, the only resaon for that is lack of access to treatment after I was initially diagnosed, not due to traveling. Now that I am being medicated properly I see no reason not to be able to manage this without any problems while overseas.
