I have been using Lifescan and test strips One touch for many years now. I am comfortable with this meter and test strips. My diabetes is managed by the diabetic clinic at the hospital. My Gp has written to me saying that he wants me and all his diabetic patients to change their meters to one that the GP surgery prefers and to use different test strips and to use different needles. I feel uncomfortable about this change as I am worried that the GP is putting his costs before my care. I just wonder can I refuse to have the new meters . . what rights do I have . I am scared if I dont accept what they are offering that I will be refused test strips for my meter on prescription. Any advice? Ancient.
