can hba1c be wrong?

Hi my sugars are between 7/8 at the moment 10 2 2 hrs after eating . yet my hba1c was 45 lasttime iI had it done 2weeks ago. Very confusing my endo wants me bk on insulin because of this .

45 (6.3%) would give you an average of 7.4 mmol/l so sounds about right. Is there a big shift from your last HbA1c? Don't understand why they would want you back on insulin though.

Because my fbs are in the 8s and 2 hrs after eating I'm in the 10s and don't come back down til 3hs eg this morning
8 before bfast at 2hrs 10,2 then 3hrs 5.9. Is that all normal my endo dosnt think so

Certainly not normal, don't know what meds you're on or your carb intake and exercise regime, but would have thought tweaking them may be more productive than insulin, but if that's the only option left...................

Fructosamine may be an alternative assay to HbA1c.

I remember you were going to keep a food diary. Does that shed any light on things? Can you share it with us?
