Hi peeps been diagnosed type 2 but diet only at moment, have changed diet no red meat only chicken eat a ton of spinach a week but am hooked on ice cream, but own machine and use no fat yougurt and blitz fresh fruit and nuts with nutribullit, great taste but people have told me I should not as fruit is full of sugar is this the case

well the answer is yes fruit is full of sugar and so is no fat yoghurt! You would be better off with full fat yoghurt because when they remove the fat they add sugar so that it doesn't taste horrible.

The only fruits that would be OK to eat in small quantities are berries as they're lowish in sugar.

What effect on your blood sugar? Everyone is different. Would use a quality full fat yoghurt (not highly processed) myself if I were to make ice cream.

HI We are all different but I can tolerate half a banana / 1 plum / raspberries / strawberries / all in moderation and have 1 pear daily. I do watch portion sizes though. I love ice cream but had none since being diagnosed in Jan this year. Has anyone ese made their own ?:)

The best way to decide on this is to check with your glucose meter 1-2 hr after eating these.

Cut down the amount until you get less than 2 mmol increase...then it should be fairly safe.
