Yesterday, my fasting was 4.9. I had a scrambled egg for breakfast and set out to join my walking group in Goring on Thames at 1000.
Road works and parking problems caused me to be a couple of minutes late. I met someone who told me which way the walkers had gone and I set off. I spotted them about 200m ahead. These are all pretty good walkers, not ambling or strolling. I put on my maximum speed [I'm not very fast ever!
] and followed as fast as I could. It took at least 2km, but Icaught up. Iwas puffing hard. then we went up a short STEEP hillside, where I kept up, despite the slippery muddy surface. I kept with the group all the way from there on up to the coffee shop. I was proud of myself. I'd not have believed Icould do it. After coffee, I drove into town to meet Peter, who'd ben playng Bridge and went to Bella Italia for lunch. I had a salad starter and for my main course i ordered something chicken, which proved to have quite a lot of pasta. I ate the chicken and the peppers and left MOST of the pasta, but I did eat some.
I'd forgotten to bring my Metformin, but I had one when we got home .Stopping to buy varnish on the way. [for my beautiful new study shelves
I ate a salad at about 7:00pm. At bedtime I checked BG 4.9!!! I took another Metformin before bed and this morning... Fasting was.... 4.9.
I had expected that small portion of pasta to have more effect. Perhaps having it at lunchtime made the difference and the hard walk of just over an hour. I''ve recently decided that I must have my main meal in the middle of the day, even if T1 husband prefers his in the evening. I'm really trying hard to get my HbA1c down a bit more. The latest 40[5.8%] is a bit higher than I like; also I'm making a major assault on my weight issues. I read recently that eating later doesn't help. wish me success folks!
