Can I prevent the DP?

Thanks to so many of you on this site since being diagnosed on the 18 May, I have reduced my mmol from 19.8 to between 7 and 8, I have also lost a stone in weight and I feel good - another positive outcome is that since low carbing and cutting out grains my tummy has been so quiet and not so volatile! Wonder if I also had a wheat intolerance?

I know I still have a way to go but my problem is the fasting test. My morning fasting reading is usually between 9 and 9.8 but will be at about 8 two hours after breakfast. Is there anything I can prevent the DP. All ideas great fully received, the others you have given me have helped me so much this far.

Hi, like you I was diagnosed in may, I have got my levels down from 16 to 5.5-6.4, but in the mornings it does tend to be 6.9-7.1, I think thr this maybe a time thing, the more our bodies get use to the new healthy diet, I think our bodies will adjust and maybe not produce so much glucose in the night to get our bodies ready for the day, (that's my theory anyway).

Good luck!

I asked the same question when I arrived here. The answer is not a lot. Just keep to low carb and give your pancreas a nice rest. After a few weeks things will gradually improve.
