Anonymous Question Can I reverse prediabetes?

With diet and lifestyle changes it's certainly possible to be free of all the signs and symptoms of diabetes. Whether you consider this a reversal is debatable. Some say once diagnosed you're too late, others say it can be reversed. Whatever, the tighter control and continual non- diabetic BG levels the better. Good luck.

I was diagnosed about the same time as you. My tests in February came back at non-diabetic levels, which I am aiming to maintain.

From my perspective, I doubt any label (diabetic/pre-diabetic/in remission/reversed diabetes) would significantly impact on what I will need to do to retain my complication and medication-free life. I believe that, although I can eat some carbs, if I reverted to a full carb diet (I never ate much sweet stuff, aside from lots and lots of fruit), my blood glucose levels would rise, either quickly or creeping over time.

I am reconciled to my current way of living. I am fitter than I was, a bit lighter than I was and I feel great.

I just hope I can maintain my positive mental attitude, as, in lifelong terms, it's early days still.

Good luck with it all. It surely is an adventure.
