can slim people?

Hi just curious I am slim but have high and low sugar readings. No medication involved as of yet a lot of type 1 in the family I'm just looking for answers been chasing my problem up for months!!!! A normal person wouldn't just drop and raise the way i am 1.4mmol - 32.4 - H1,, I don't understand non of it!!!!can anybody give me some sort of insight?
 
Try going to the doctor for blood tests and yes, slim people can too.... :wink:

Hope you get to the bottom of it, sounds like it needs investigating definately!

Anyone of any shape, size, age, sex or race can get any of all the types of diabetes i'm afraid.

Thankyou i see a endocorologist tomorrow my hba1c was all clear but to my confusion I have been told its baby stages of diabetes,, is it possible that if your sugars are stable at the time of a hba1c that nothing would show I don't get how they can tell me my hba1c was good but I am in babystages confused,
 
hba1c is just an average, so if you are getting some highs and some lows they would average out as normal. The endocrinologist will hopefully be able to shed some more light on things.
 
The endocorolgist basically told me I am a reactaive hyperglycemic and said im probably going to end up type 1 more tests to be done and started me on diazoxide
 
Well, at least you got some sort of answer, Danny - can I stop holding my breath? :wink: I hope you got plenty of good advice - it's not a subject I know anything about. And I hope you're feeling better.

Hi thanks yeah got to give up a lot of foods plus take the pills problem is i get high spikes off of natrual sugars I just found out yesterday so just being studying into the condition! It seems quiet serious and very simler in ways of what I can and cannot do even the possible consequences for doing these things we shouldnt unfortunately I'm on such a bad scale i nees medication aswell as a diet unlike most reactive hyperglycemics. I just am glad there is medicine, bit gutted about this diet lol
 
Thankyou me aswell very happy that its being treated just need to see this dietition so I don't mess up to often it though there will be mess ups for a while because I have to give up cafeen now that is not easy for me so I am still on 3 coffee a day I used to drink loads of it but I dont think im allowed nothings certain till I see a dietition. Even though I aint got diabetes I will be on this site regular still as I am sure many people in a similar position to me would have and will be here looking for answers. Now I have some sort of insight to other possibilities I want to be able to offer small advice to anybody stuck for possible answers. Due to me being highly likely to end up type 1 *according to my specialist* I will be looking into things a lot. Everybody on here has been so polite and very helpful I'm greatful to you all and hope you all keep safe!

I hope once you have seen the dietician and she had explained everything to you, it will get a little easier for you. Please do stick around, as you said i'm sure there will be more people like you that will be wanting help and advice.
 
Definable I mean my Gp was so horrid to me implied I must be on drugs to have been having these episodes I'm still trying to come to terms with the way I was treated when I was so unwell and didnt ask for or deserve any of it! I just hope other peoples Gp are a lot more understanding
 

Unfortunately this seems to happen too often!

In any profession there will be people who mis-treat people and act without compassion.

Several GP's at my DR's are lovely and wonderful, there are a few dragons though :lol:

I've learnt to avoid those and if i do come across one i will request to see another and i've learnt not to take things personally, but that comes with time as it's never easy to handle being mis-treated, especially when your vunerable because your poorly.

Glad your getting there and it's a great idea for you to stick around, learn about diabetes, make some friends, and possibly advise those who could find themselves in the position you were in
