Hi. My mum is 74 and has had type 2 diabetes for i think around 10 years. Over that period she has had a hard time with the nurses at her doctors and at the diabetic clinic and they have made her feel small and generally not been kind. To cut a long story short, I went to the clinic with her in the end and the doctor seemed ok and told my mum she was on totally the wrong doseage of insulin (way too low) and that it would need adjusting but the doctor wouldnt do it and said my mum had to see the nurse. I thought mum would go but turns out she didn't (such is the bad experience she has had she won't go). I am so worried about her but now she won't even discuss it and I think she has stopped taking readings too. She does take her insulin but I know it's the wrong dose and when she was taking readings her sugar was between 6 and 14. I don't know what to do to get her seen somewhere else where they will be kind to her so she doesn't feel humiliated and so will keep going. What can I do?
