Can you check for Ketones on the freestyle Libre 2 reader? If so what lancets can you use? If not can you recommend a meter for testing ketones?

I have a few questions regarding my diabetes . I was diagnosed with diabetes 20 years ago when I was 29 years old. At the time I was put on insulin straight away and was told at the time that I was a type 1 diabetic. I have to admit that I haven't been very well controlled over the years and my average hb1 is 79 ish. I have been on the DAFNE course I am currently on 36 units of Lantus and have a carb ratio of 10g carbs to 2 units of insulin and 2 x daily 500g metformin. My correction dose is 1 unit of insulin to 2mml of correction dose. I have asked my GP to refer me to my local diabetic center or hospital for them to try and help me again get an understanding of my glucose levels. As at the moment I am only seeing my GP and the diabetic nurse at my doctor's surgery, I have been under the hospital and diabetic center before, but I just find it all too overwhelming. I have been referred and I received a text yesterday inviting me to join a type 2 diabetic program, which will be totally useless to me. I am always being classed as a type 2 diabetic and I'm feeling really annoyed and depressed that I am.

Even before getting the free freestyle sensor, I was planning to to buy the Freestyle Libre 2 starter pack (With the reader) next week out of my PIP, as I thought that I could gather reports and then give these to my GP to try and get funding on the NHS, for I wouldn't be able to self fund my sensors. I have spoken to my GP of my intentions and getting funding and they said that they would have to request it.

Possibly not so helpful, but just to point out that you can use other lancing devices (and the relevant lancets) as long as you request those lancets show on your repeat prescription list from your GP. I didn't like the lancing device provided with the libre 1 and so kept my old device from my previous glucose meter. There wasn't a cost difference so my GP was happy to keep the old lancets on my script once asked.
