Dear daffy1,
I'd advise that you speak to your doctor about the fluctuations in your blood glucose levels.
The two medications that you take ... assuming that your profile is still up to date ... work in different ways. The gliclazide stimulates your pancreas to produce more insulin, and the metformin makes your body's cells less resistant to the effects of insulin. (It also works by limiting the release of glycogen from the liver (that's the way the liver stores glucose, by the way), as well as limiting the absorption of glucose through the walls of the intestines.)
Hopefully, either your doctor or your diabetes specialist nurse will have some suggestions for you.
Best of luck to you.
Lots of Love and Light.

P.S. Please don't be offended, or alarmed, at the "x's". It's merely a logo, of sorts, that I've used for some 30-odd years now ... from way before Political Correctness came into vogue.
