Hi, probably stupid question but can't find info online... can you get insurance that would cover you finding out you're pregnant before going on holiday, and cancelling holiday because of this? not booked hol yet, not preg & chance of this happening pretty slim, but if it did happen, I wouldn't want to risk travelling in first trimester and would probably cancel. Aternatively, if you declared diabetes (type1) and get pregnant and doctor advises you not to go, would this be covered under medical policy?

Sorry, never been abroad but spotted a really good self catering deal for june - wouldn't be a very good deal if we dont go though! (coeliac so dont want to book last minute hol and not find anywhere safe to eat).

thanks for any help you can offer.

Different providers offer different levels of cover so you'll have to look around. I had to cancel a holiday last year as it ended up clashing with a wedding. My insurance covered that but it is a very comprehensive policy.

If you doctor tells you not to travel than most insurance providers will cover you for some of the costs at least. Again, it depends on the provider. You may also need to pay for a note from your GP. Best thing to do is to rig round a few providers and find out what you would be covered for.

A lot of holiday providers will also provide money back if you cancel x days before you are due to travel e.g 50% if you cancel 60 days or more in advance etc. Worth checking too.

I'm coeliac too. It can be hard being abroad and findig suitable places to eat. Some countries are better than others. You can get cards with useful phrases on which I'd definitely recommend. I think ingot mine from coeliac UK, or something like that. I've travelled a lot and always managed to find something to eat :) Don't let itnput you off holidaying.

Hope you find an amazing holiday and have a great time. Happy baby-making ;)
