I have had type 2 diabetes for 17years,tablet controlled until I received treatment for my NHL cancer with steroids as part of it.
It sent my sugar level so high my meter could not register it. I became totally incontinent, as fast as I drank it just poured out of me uncontrolled. You would think that hospitals would know that these things would happen. Do Cancer specialists not talk to their colleagues .I was put into hospital for 1 week & had an insulin pen thrust at me & told to have 24 units in the morning & 18 in the evening. I was not shown how to use it was not told if I could have more insulin if my levels rose, & I still have to take the tablets.
Now another Cancer drug Bendamustine appears to be doing the same as the steroids.
