that will be down to the GP or CCGs prescribing decisions. you cant have anything for free, ony items from the prescribing formulary. They wouldn't prescribe plasters, or lip salve for example.

Yes I understand that things like that would not be on a free prescription but surely the thrush treatment should be especially for those who suffer from it quite lot
It's a GPs/practice decision. Every prescription costs the NHS £5 before you add on the cost of the meds, and a lot of medication which can be bought over the counter is no longer being prescribed. If the op has free prescriptions it might be worth them explaining that to the receptionist, practice manager or GP especially as diabetes is the cause of recurrent infections.
