Hi I’m new to this and just wanted to know -I’m Type 2 and on tablets and insulin. Can anyone recommend a good App that’s free to use to count my daily carbs. I was using Carbs & Cals but moving from one phone type to another means I would have to pay again. TIA

Hi and welcome in this forum
This is good application android it's always free just install it if you can't install it into your device you can visit website
... but switching operating system apparently doesn't count, so it's like you have to start over. I had the same issue switching from Android to iOS. I managed without Carbs & Cals for a while. Now back on Android, it was free to download as I'd already paid previously.
A note of caution about Myfitnesspal: A lot - but not all - of the nutrition info comes from the USA, where carbs are counted including fibre. As a carb-counting diabetic, you need to count net carbs, which excludes the fibre. You may know this, but fibre is an indigestible form of carbohydrate, hence it's in the food, but not available to be metabolised for energy.
Personally, I find that Carbs & Cals isn't perfect, but by far its biggest advantage is the photos, which are often a good enough substitute for weighing every last ingredient!
@jackobello. @Colin of Kent is absolutely right about a lot of the info coming from the States. But I have to say that I love Myfitnesspal’s barcode scanner. That’ll give you the right carb breakdown for almost all of the stuff you buy in the UK (sometimes it does make a mistake and identifies a completely different product than the one you have in your camera sight).
Hey, the basic app is free. So Why not give it a whirl and see what gives.
BTW, I didn’t know about Carbs & Cals. So thank you guys. I’ve just bought it and’ll give THAT one a whirl.
