Carb Counting and frozen chips

Good evening, Can anyone recommend the best way to count these from the packaging. Is it carbs at frozen or after cooked. For example it says 22.8 grams carbs per 100 grams frozen. so I weighed 205 grams which gave me a total of 46.74 of carbs. Weighing after cooked there was 138grams. The label says 26.4 grams per 100 grams so this gave me a total of 36.4. I would assume you would use the latter, there is a bit of a difference here.
 
I usually use the frozen weight. That works fine for me

The difference depends on how much water they've lost in the cooking.

Whichever you choose to use, stick to that in future then you know where you are.
 
If it's the first time you've had them, test after so you can see if your dose worked, or, if it didn't, amend it in future.

This sounds daft but I find some chip brands more reliable than others for carb counting, so I tend to stick to the same few brands.
 
Thanks for the advice, I guess its all about trial and error while your trying to figure all this out.
 
26.4g/100g oven baked sounds like Mcain Chips to me?!

I use the over baked value - works for me!

I tend to use the frozen value, a frozen chip is a frozen chip, an oven baked chip could be baked to various degrees (see what I did there!?) and so the weight can't be relied upon to work out it's carb content - as already pointed out due to water content.

Now care to talk about Chip shop chips?
 

From my Carbs and Cals book, for people with diabetes it says. Chips, deep fried - weight 165 59 carbs, Oven chips, 168g - 50 carbs, these are cooked. But different brands of chips will differ in carbs. You can have a reasonable amount of french fries on the plate and not so many carbs, as they are much thinner.
I try to use the 'cooked' chips carbs info.
