i carb count for my 9 yr old son, and we're doing really well so far. however, i'd just like to be sure about something....
i cooked a jacket potatoe for him and the difference in weight between raw and cooked weight was loads. i realise that the moisture is probably cooked away with the heat, but, what weight should i use? it makes quite a difference.
A 200g cooked jacket potato has a total carb count of 64g according to the Pocket Calorie Counter.
3 small new potatoes - boiled or steamed has a total carb count of 18g
Personally I use dry weight for everything. I also steer clear of jacket spuds.
jacket potato with skin is about 32% carb when weighed cooked.
Plain jacket potatoes are also very high gi so will probably cause a higher glucose spike than the same amount of boiled potato (thought what you eat with it can alter this )
