It would be interesting to see the variety of diets posted in the open forum, as I for one don't lchf, my diet suits me, and works very, very well. A good variety of fresh healthy food seems to work wonders.Thank you so much cc it is very kind of you to consider my post at value, in fact I have received a few pm from people who also do not low carb for many different reasons, it was really nice they sent those messages....shame we can't all feel able to share our own different ways of coping with our diet and what works for us as individuals....my post was not about rugby!!!!!

Thank you Shane,I had smoked fish carrots and two potatoes today kat I found I was 7.2 two hours later ,a big improvement on my recent past
Decided to start the new year with some low carb eating, with increased fat....well afraid it's not for me the pounds just piled back on, it's back to being a medium carb diet eating a bit of everything and back to low fat....it was working before need to get back in control now...just sharing that we are all so different in relation to the way our diet body and weight loss works, best wishes all Kat x
Well done for working out your solution Kat! I am going the same way too. I tried high fat but it truly made me feel awful, quite sick and I gained weight after Christmas too and no, I didn't go nuts at ChristmasI am sure I was using it properly, I didn't have loads of it but honestly, it hasn't done me any good really. So, it's back to low fat for me BUT I have learned truck loads of stuff on here and have found that fairly low carbing works fantastically well for me, I really do love it. I now find that if I have too many carbs at one sitting I feel bloated and very slow, sleepy and just terrible. Isn't it horrible that we can slump like that, right back to where we started. I have lost all the weight I gained and back to feeling like a box of birds which is just wonderful
I am wondering if the exercise ratio makes a big difference to LCHF. I am unable to exercise a lot because of other physical problems but I have an exercise bike and can do that on some days. So I am thinking that if high fat replaces carbs as an energy source but isn't burned off it is probably stored as fat just like excess carbs are. I suppose though that energy in v energy out will make a difference with any regime.
So although following LCHF doesn't work for me, I can do what's best for me and if I hadn't come on here and read all the information available I would still be in the bloody wilderness wondering what the hell happened to my life!
Onward and upward....Never Give Up, Never Surrender!
feeling like a box of birds.... what a lovely sayingits great you found your way popsy
Thanks Andy
Oh yes! Feeling like a box of birds or feeling like a box of fluffy ducks. Sayings used here and yes, they are lovely and fun
All mixed diets and all that exercise you do Andy and your baking, all sounds good to mei would say compared to pre diagnosis, i low carb and low fat in fact, although in context to my diet now its high fat its a massive reduction in fat from my old diet, but id say my diet is lower fat lower carb lower portion size than before so i suppose im all the diets mixed into one, but as i dont avoid fat and actively try to eat it starting from dx i high fat low carb, hmmm dunno if that makes sense
All mixed diets and all that exercise you do Andy and your baking, all sounds good to me
