Type 1 Carbs in Alcohol and Correction Doses.

Hi everyone,
So I turn 18 tomorrow, which is legal drinking age in the UK. I'm going on a night out, and there's going to be lots of carby drinks (it'll probably be a messy one). I was wondering at what point do I give a correction dose? I already spoke to my diabetes team when I was diagnosed in March about alcohol, as it reduces blood sugar, but I don't know what to do if my bloods go over 14. Do I ever give a correction, or would that be too dangerous with alcohol in my system?
Thank you so much, any help is appreciated.

You do need to be careful if on insulin with alcohol as the liver can't do emergency dumps of glucose when it's busy clearing the blood of alcohol. Yes do be very careful with correction doses and test frequently.

Thank you so so much for this, I'll bear all that in mind and I'll check my bloods regularly. I'll just have to see over time what works for me. And thank you for the birthday wishes!
