Hi.

It's my anniversary today, and hubby and I are going out to a posh carvery. I've worked out carbs for everything, including vegetables and even mint source, but struggling to find the carbs in beef gravy. As far as we know its normal gravy. I rang up and asked. I haven't been to this place before. The Internet says its anything from 5grams to 20 grams !?!

Anyone know what I should count the Gravy as? I have a good amount, but not so much I'm swimming in it.

I don't know if this is going to help. If you look at the ingredients of Bisto gravy then it consists of starch and caramel. It's never seen a cow and it is 59% carbs.

It depends on what your carvery uses as gravy I suppose.

Edit: To correct percentage.

That explains the huge difference in carbs for gravy. It's proper gravy, what ever that means?

Go with 5g, most of the gravy we buy is between 3-5g of carbs per 100g serving, if you like lots of gravy then counts it has 10g, can't see it being much more and your better underestimating than overestimating.
