Oh dear. I just bought 2 lbs of sausages and instead of 95% meat. He has given me extra lean ones...I can't go back. Is the amount of carbs from fillers going to de rail me? Following Lchf diet...would only have 2 for breakfast for example?

All you can do is use your meter to test them out. If you have them with other non carby foods - eggs, bacon, mushrooms for example, it should give you a fair idea of what they do to you. If they raise your levels by more than an acceptable amount, I would either try again with just one sausage, or discard them.

If you're trying to aim for ketosis on a very low carb diet be aware that some of these low meat content sausages can contain about 10 grams of carbs each so just 2 of them would be 2 thirds of your carb allowance for the day gone in one go if you were aiming for 30 grams per day for example.

Thankyou. I may just put them in the freezer. I've kept my carbs v v low as I'm only 3 days in starting up lchf and really want to get into ketosis. I've got some sticks....I really need to 'get it: that this is for life...and take proper control

Trouble is,if you follow a very low carb diet. The Richmond Sausages are 7.8 grams of carbs per sausage so just 2 of them would be half of my daily carb allowance gone in one go.

Why not split them into 2 packs of 1lb, freeze them and in the winter when you've got informal guests make a sausage casserole? That way, you won't waste them and you'll use them up in probably one hit.
