low carb can certainly be an option .
do remember that as a type 1 you will need to bolus for part of your protein intake if avoiding carbs ......

Yeah sorted that now. I havnt cut out carbs, today iv had a low carb day and feel a lot better for it. My diabetic nures was the one who said to me just the other day that carbs are not the enemy.
She's neither wrong nor right, but most of us would agree that they do have to be controlled somewhat.
You'll find on the forum that some members keep their carbs right down (as in LCHF/Bernstein style diets) where as others (including myself) eat them in moderation.
