Cutting out carbs usually works well to get your blood glucose down, but you sitll need enough fuel.
So if you don't have your usual amount of pastry/bread/fruit/crackers, you'll need to replace the lack of calories by adding more proteins and fats.
For instance having more butter with your veggies, or cheese, meats, eggs, cream to satiation.

I have found that - admittedly after a long time eating low carb, that my need to eat is rather low. I can easily eat just one meal a day and feel fine - but I eat protein and natural fats - a chop or steak with mushrooms or stirfry for instance, full fat Greek style yoghurt and berries, coffee with cream is a typical meal.
Once low carb is normal I think metabolism alters to cope far better with longer gaps between meals.
