Hey all. My name is Ash and I've been a Type 1 diabetic for about about 30 years now. I've very recently moved to Cardiff and I wanted to see if there were any other T1Ds in the area who might want to join me in setting up a social group for casual meet ups and chats with others who might understand the joys and tribulations of living with the condition
 
Hi Ash, I run a Type 1 group in Worcs, couple of tips, try speaking to your DSN and get a poster made up to put in the diabetes clinic and ask them to help spread the word too, also contact Diabetes UK as they support local groups and can help spread the word, we tend to meet every 3 months, numbers rise and fall, some times we can have 8-10 and other times it's just a couple, good luck and hope you enjoy meeting new people there.
 

Now that you've found us, I don't want to drive you away but our opponents (only joking) in the blue corner have support groups in Wales and it looks like they have a support group in Cardiff already, so maybe it will be of some help to you.
 
Hi there thank you so much of the advice. I will speak to my DSN and hopefully get the ball rolling.
