Good morning to all had a cataract removed from right eye last week amazing results, and then the letter arrived with 6 monthly results and I am well pleased Hba1c 43 mmols Total cholesterol 2.8. HDL 1.04 LDL 1.4 Happy days

As far as I am aware----- I had left eye done about 7 years ago and surgeon told that I would be back well he was right but I'm told it can be because of diabetes or it could just be OLD AGE ha ha only been diagnosed diabetic about 3 and half years so first one was not due to the dreaded. ( at least I don't think so)

I don't think that cataracts are in any way associated with a diabetes diagnosis. Have had operations on both eyes way before diagnoses. It works wonders. For diabetics, I believe that retinopathy is the thing to look out about.

With regard to HbA1c: great result!

That's funny because if you ask the question on here about relation between diabetes and cataracts it is a considerable factor, even the surgeon on first consultation said the same ,I don't really know just being a lay person but don't suppose it really matters if they are related or not I have now bad both eyes done and it's brilliant
