cataract surgery

just had cataract surgery ( wednesday ) but as iv always had high blood sugar so for a few days before i cut down on my food intake to only water for the last todays. so last week went for my pre op check and took my own blood test meter (agamatrix jazz) so could test my blood at the same time the hospital both came out at 10.2 so i no mine is accrate. so on the morning op the op got up at 4.45am took blood test 6.2 great for op had small bit of bacon an 1 egg for breakfast took 2 metformin 500mg 2 gliclazide 80mg 1 januvia 100mg got to hospital at 8am blood test then 10.2 with there meter an mine um bit high so had a cup of tea ( no sugar ) had the op then more tea no sugar blood sugar now 14.6 got home at 12.30 pm blood now 18.2 any seen sugar levels rise this high with no food. BUT WHAT THE HECK I CAN SEE NOW
 
Having any operation is a cause of stress (I was certainly stressed when I had my cataract operation!)
Stress can cause raised blood sugars - could this possibly be raising yours?
