Just been to the Doc for the results of my HbA1c test.
It was a piddling little 38 which she said is a good reading for a person without diabetes.
I'm over the moon about this. Last year it was 98.
The low carb diet is REALLY working.

I'm so so happy.
Thankyou to everyone here and the 10 week low carb programme at diabetes.co.uk for all your wonderful advice, guidance and for educating me and my partner.
My partner is a non diabetic but is also doing low carb. She feels great on it and no longer has a slump after lunch.
Thanks again.

Very well done, Miriamy.

Edited to remove tag to Admin, as Brunneria beat me to it.

Follow up to my opening post.
I saw the DN yesterday. She was pleased and I came off Metformin. I'm going back for another HbA1c in 3 months to see how well I'm managing with diet alone. She said if I continue managing my diet she will expect an average reading of 7.5 mmol.
On Metformin I'm averaging 6.5mmol per week and per month on my meter.
Watch this space.....

That's a great reduction @miriamy, well done! And well done to your partner for supporting you by adopting LCHF too. :)
