Guys do you find in the warmer weather your dex itches more under opsite?

Considering pulling a 7 day sensor O-o and not putting the opsite on again.

@Spiker @CarbsRok

Touch would so far not a problem for me. I have made sure that plenty of skin tac went on before sensor was placed then more skin tac went on top of the tape and surrounding area with the hydrofilm place on top of it. Day 10 and not an itch in sight.
Would an antihistamine help?

Dont know I'm in work. so far Ive taken a layer of clothing off. It could be the sensor actually, just noticed its had a bleed in the last couple of days which doesnt inspire me.

Hopefully the sensor will last as one of mine bled like a stuck pig after insertion, it lasted weeks though and just as accurate. Do you have any skin tac to try? Well worth going down the route of tac on the tape then putting the film on the sensor tape, this way you can peel it off once a week for a breather.

It had skin tac originally, Just spoken to animas as within 7 days. they suspect infection and told me to pull it. also they are replacing my pump as it has a battery compartment crack! worthwhile call...

Getting a CGM on the NHS is about as common as hen's teeth or rocking horse poo. We all self fund that I'm aware.

Costs depend on which pump you are getting

I'm getting the insight pump and was looking at the dexcom CGM but can not find a price for it apart from the sensors which are about £100 a month

Because your using something other than the Vibe I dont know sorry, have a search of the forum though as the cost are often posted. infact i think @Spiker posted them about a week or so ago?

Contact advanced therapeutics, they will provide you with the costs involved as they provide the Dexcom.

I get itching but I wouldn't swear it was worse or more frequent in the heat. Actually I can't remember the last time it was warm. ;-)

Will watch out for that though and report back.

Try the CGM / FGM Costs thread in this forum (Glucose Monitoring).
But about £1000 for the Dexcom receiver.

When I get itching it is usually infection and sadly time for the sensor to come off. Hence I really try to disinfect the site now before insertion and keep it clean during use.
