Anyone no what the best CGM is on the market at the miniute still struggling with carb counting bloods are through the roof due to fear of hypos need help thanks

Dexcom is best value for money, as you can restart your sensor quite a few times thus saving money. It's known as the most accurate as well.

@CarbsRok, it's only the best value for money if you can get more than two weeks out of the sensors. The more people I speak to about it, the fewer there are that seem to get a particularly long life from them, beyond the two weeks. So value for money it's the Libre.

Accuracy though, I think the Dexcom definitely has it.

Ye thanks for the advise av been looking at the libra and the dexcom am gunner try an get it on prescription coz av lost all sense of highs when I say highs I am feeling really good an energetic when me bloods are 26. Something which carnt be a good thing but if I give to much insulin it goes to low an anxiaty kicks in bad nightmere cheers anyway thanks alot

It's very easy to get more than 2 weeks out of a sensor :) A little preparation goes a long way. Most I have had is 47 days but the norm is 3 - 4 weeks.

Depends on who you talk to. The T1CGM group on Facebook seems to struggle beyond 14 and a couple of people on there have tested the accuracy beyond about 14 days and due to breakdown of the glucose oxidase in the sensor it seems to fall off.

Send them over here and I will explain how to make the sensors last :)

Are there any new cgm type products being releseased soon? Abbott seem to have the monoply for the moment, but there needs to be competition to bring the price down.

Libre isn't a CGM anyway :p

Please give me instructions how to extend the sensor as I've just purchased a Dexcom G4 and know I'll need to get more time with the sensor to save money as I'll be struggling to pay for more.

Use some skin tac and plaster it on the sticky side of the sensor tape, then after cutting some hydrofilm or tegarderm sp* to fit snuggly around the transmitter soak the top of the senor tape and surrounding area of skin with more skin tac position the hydrofilm .
