Hi all
just wondering if anybody had experienced problems with sugar levels while taking this drug?
Ive been type 2 for at least 15 years now and while in hospital recently for angioplasty my consultant more or less ordered me to get better control of my sugar levels and stop smoking, the alternative being an early grave. with the help of this site I managed to get it down to high fives or low sixes and lost half a stone in the bargain, next challenge was the cigs so coincidentaly there was a lady calling at work from the local stop smoking service, I had a chat with her and got a prescription for Champix, I have not had a smoke for eight days now and dont really miss it but the sugar levels have risen to high nines or low tens (all before food). Does this drug cause it to rise a little? the only compensation for the cigs has been chewing sugar free gum or munching on cellery, this drug is working for me and I really dont want to go back to smoking so dont want to stop taking it. I feel a lot better these days for actually doing as I was told, dont know if its down to diet, my heart working better than it was or the clear lungs, now just want to get the sugar level down again.
Any ideas guys?
Dave
