Changing Freestyle Libre Sensor Question

That’s a useful question I’m in much the same boat. About half way into my first sensor. I was planing on putting my new sensor on my other arm the day before to allow it to settle, but I’m not sure you can scan two sensors at once. I just use the phone app for starting my sensor and when I activated this one it kinda blocked me out of the app counting down from one hour. I really hope someone more experienced answers this.

Basically yes you do lose an hour of data in the app as the new sensor needs that hour to set itself up.

If you use both a reader and a phone you can start the new sensor with the reader an hour before the old runs out and then keep reading the old one til a few mins before it runs out with your phone but you must make sure you do scan with your phone before the hour setup has done otherwise it'll be too late to pair the sensor with your phone (and then you wont have any interruption on your phone). However this does mean each time you replace you are starting an hour earlier than the previous time, - which obviously will cause problems when the new 'hour earlier time' is at a totally inconvenient time (like when you're in the middle of driving home from work)

You can avoid a gap by applying the new sensor ahead of when you want to activate it. I usually wait 48 hours before activating a new sensor and avoid a gap by wearing two for a short time.

No, it’s just sitting on the arm, but you can activate it 60 minutes before the old one runs out so there won’t be a gap in data.

Err! If you activate the new one the old one ceases and you still have to wait the 60 mins. In the scheme of things it is nothing.
