I have been a type 1 diabetic for 26 years with good control. Over the last few days my testing has revealed high results >15. My meal carbs haven't changed by I'm finding that even taking high doses doesn't bring my levels down. Today I tested before the gym at 19 did an hours cardio, running 6km and cycling 12km, I then tested afterwards and it was 23. I'm not ill am generally fit and well, go to the gym 3 times a week and run once a week. But can't understand why it's running so high.
The question I have is does insulin dosage increase with age, I have googled this question and not returned any results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi pbilli I am also type 1, 24 yrs in the summer.

I have never thought of an age problem with insulin requirements, it's something to think about

Maybe you could you be coming down with something, as that can raise BS or eating something different that has caused a spike, orliver kicked in with a glucose dump :?:

I hope you find an answer, or it could just be a little unexplained blip

Take care and best wishes RRB

It could be that you have a wee infection but dont feel ill your body could be trying to fight it. This has actually happened to me before. Im not sure about the age thing though.
