Hi ya, i was just wondering do i still try the same amount of units? i usually take 20u. The idea is that i Will be able to split the dose to keep my bg down during the day.
I have phoned the diabetes com nurse a few times but she is obviously busy as she has not called me back :-{

Yes that's what I would do and test accordingly, most find when changing from lantus to levemir they do need to increase their basal by quite a bit, I know when I changed breifly to levemir my dose went up by 15-20 units, hopefully your nurse will get back soon and advise.

Re: Changing to levimere from lantus

Hi

I changed from 19u Lantus (once at bedtime) to 23u Levemir (using trial and error broke it down to 2 injections - 14u at breakfast and 9u at bedtime....... so dont worry, you might not have to increase by too much.....

I would think that you should start to feel better in respect of low bg levels as they will be more manageable........
