Cheap testing strips - how much is 'cheap'?

Probably asking this in the wrong part of the forum, or just not looking hard enough for the answer but hope someone can help.

Up til now my doctor has always been good about supplying test strips, but at the moment I am testing more than usual due to a change in meds and a change of diet and I get the feeling that he is not going to be quite so co-operative next time I ask for them - so though 'forewarned is forearmed' so have been trying, without much success, to find 'cheap' test strips to buy.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, or tell me how much I should be expecting to pay?

(I have an Ascencia Contour meter)

many thanks

have you tried ebay. we had a problem with our doctors about the amount sophie was using.we had to explain about carb counting, hypos etc never been a problem since.not sure if you are type 1 or 2 im appalled that type 2 arent allowed to get them for free.i know some doctors do it but a lot don't.

Hi Trulee

I was able to buy 200 Contour test strips on e-nay for about Stg40, which I though was a prety good deal.

I have also bought from eBay and got good deals, but I now get direct from the supplier, Abbott diabetes care. they charge half the Boots price and no P&P Charge delivery next day
