Check Up - Lowering Bp Naturally?

haven't been on for a while, but recently had a check up with the diabetic nurse and was glad that my Hb1ac was still within their parameters so still no need for medication on that front but my cholesterol was up to 5.8 which include the good one being up. She has suggested that I should go on to another statin (was on simvastatin) but I am reluctant after getting muscle and joint ache which went away after stopping simvastatin.
Also she has stated that the low carb diet that I am keeping to is not good for me and suggests that I should up my carbs to 50-60 grms per meal...............!! now I know that I would balloon at that level of carbs. Over the last 5years I have gone from 19st 11lb to 17st 6lb although I did go down to 16st 5lb last year but regained some weight because I did start eating more carbs earlier this year and went up to 17st 13ib. But as you can see the trend is continuing downwards.
She also wants to put me on bp medication as that is a bit on the high side.
Does anyone know a good way to lower bp naturally? i did try cider vinegar and beetroot juice but these didn't seem to work for me, I do exercise at least for an hour four times a week and walk approx 2 miles a day
I am male 55 and type 2 diagnosed about 8 years ago

HI,

BP, its exercise and losing weight....so it sounds like you are in teh right track there with you weight loss so far. :)

I am not 100% sure about this, as I am not on statins myself...but my Dad, a T2 is, and he found that different statins, had different extents of side effects. He too got a lots of muscle pain, and his muscles just seems to wither! I think he changed statins, and things improved...might be worth asking?

Carb advice seems bonkers!
