Yeah , it's all my fault but last week was very stressful and I must have thrown my meds away by mistake.
So why can't I have my meds before Thursday?
I just think chemists should help people more as i'm sure we've all had medication mishaps
Who said you can't have your meds till Thursday? Ring your gp surgery and explain your situation and insist that they give you a prescription straight away..............and don't take no for a answer!
I'll be there later actually and will mention it but I don't like how chemists dictate too much. Accidents happen and i'm only awake now due to swelling (god knows how i'll be getting up later) so maybe it's time chemists were given a kick up the backside!
"You can have an emergency supply for £5" isn't good enough
Do you always use the same Pharmacist.......mine frequently lets me have tabs if I have forgotten to order, or like you run out for whatever reason. There is never any charge, he just deducts it from the precription when I hand it to him later.
The actual rules though are this:
In an emergency, you may be able to get your medicine from a pharmacist. You must have been prescribed the medicine before. Other conditions also apply to this service. For example, the pharmacist:
1. Will usually need to see you face-to-face,
2. Must agree that you need the medicine immediately, and
3. Can supply your medicine for up to 30 days.
Supplying medicine in an emergency is a private service, not funded by the NHS, and pharmacists are entitled to charge for it. The charge will vary, depending on the medicine you need and the policy of the pharmacist.
